Ghana Telecom, in conjunction with Black Star TV, has begun demonstrating mobile television using T-DMB (Terrestrial – Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) as a teaser for when its commercial service is slated to launch in October 2007 over its Onetouch cellular network, according to a company press release.
Six TV channels, four radio channels and two data channels are slated to be available at launch, the release says. Accra and Ashanti will be the first two markets, followed by a nationwide rollout, the company says.
Ghana Telecom has approximately 1 million subscribers for a 19 percent market share in the country.
